ADSL provides an always on high-speed Internet access over a
single dedicated telephone line. ADSL uses the standard
telephone connections available over the existing telephone
network.
Cable Internet services offer an always on high-speed Internet
access over a shared cable television line. Cable modems use a
coaxial cable that runs from a cable TV hook-up to a computer.
This service is transmitted over a shared cable line.
