What's the Difference Between Broadband and Cable?

ADSL provides an always on high-speed Internet access over a single dedicated telephone line. ADSL uses the standard telephone connections available over the existing telephone network.

Cable Internet services offer an always on high-speed Internet access over a shared cable television line. Cable modems use a coaxial cable that runs from a cable TV hook-up to a computer. This service is transmitted over a shared cable line.
